Open Door Properties started in 1988 when we developed property from larger buildings into individual letting units.

Through our image branding the name and identity of Open Door Properties became known in land and property development circles and, at the time, our recognition in this sector was rapid. The extent of this meant that our plans for high street outlets were put on hold, as our time was spent in negotiations with purchasing consortiums for the sale of projects for development such as Marina's and land for freehold real estate development in mainland Europe.

Once project work was under way Open Door Properties proceeded with it's plans to open higher profile outlets in the U.K. The success of this is now being followed by phase two of business development through the medium of franchising.

 

The first of Open Door Properties main road outlets was opened in Kendal, the home town of the founder of the company, whose grandfather's stone masonry business built some of the older houses in the area. For example, homes that were required in Burneside by James Cropper, the paper mill owner and Lord Lieutenant of Westmorland.
